MIES (Switzerland)— To continue its commitment to excellence in refereeing, FIBA Referee Operations has published the "Protocols Checklist for Referees". This important handbook details the basic protocols every basketball referee should know, designed to ensure consistent decision-making and provide clarity for teams.
The goal of this new resource is to help referees minimize personal interpretation, particularly in 50-50 decisions. To enhance the learning experience, many of the protocols in the checklist is accompanied by a supporting video.
By adopting these standardised protocols, referees will be empowered to make better decisions on the court, leading to a better and higher quality of officiating across the game.
