MIES (Switzerland) - The FIBA Table Officials Licensing for 2024-28 cycle started in April, when registration for table official candidates opened.

The testing period starts on May 20, 2024 and will end on June 30, 2024. The list of approved FIBA Table Officials will be announced by July 19, 2024 to each National Federation and the Licensed Period 2024-28 will commence on September 1, 2024.

The FIBA Table Official Licensing system has been successfully implemented for two periods since the new competition system started in 2019 and has yielded around 5000 Licensed FIBA Table Officials within this latest cycle. With the recent changes in the Internal Regulations, FIBA Table Official Licenses are now valid for a four (4) year period rather than two.

The Table Official Licensing provides an opportunity for any Table Official who succeeds in the certification process to be selected to officiate at the highest levels, thereby increasing their knowledge and experience. FIBA-certified Table Officials have the opportunity to participate in top-level FIBA competitions. Only FIBA Table Officials can be nominated for most FIBA events, and host countries of FIBA Men's and Women's Events (World Senior and Youth, Continentals Senior, Qualifiers, etc.) have this mandate.

To support the Table Officials, additional training sessions (both online and face-to-face) are organized. These sessions are designed to fine-tune the preparation of FIBA Table Officials before a competition, not only boosting their confidence but also fostering stronger connections among their peers and with the key Game Officials at any game or tournament.
