The third day of the Pre-Competition Camp (PCC) in Istanbul started with referees reviewing critical topics such as Help Defender and the role of the '4th referee.' Breakout groups facilitated detailed discussions, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of these aspects of the game. A session on Help Defender and the Crew Teamwork Checklist highlighted the importance of collaboration and communication within the refereeing team.
The afternoon was dedicated to a physical activation session at a basketball court, mirroring the previous day's routine. This was followed by an on-court training session to practice their officiating skills in real-case scenarios.
The last classroom session focused on the essential elements of effective communication, both within the referee crew and with Technical Delegates and Table Officials. This emphasis on communication underscored its importance in ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated officiating process. To wrap up the day, Carl Jungebrand, Head of Refereeing, provided a summary of the PCC, highlighting key takeaways and addressing administrative matters relevant to the officiating team. This final session served as a valuable recap and preparation for the upcoming U17 Men's World Cup.
Following the conclusion of the Pre-Competition Camp (PCC), we caught up with Mrs. Teresa Stuck to let us know about her experience at world level in FIBA so far.
